Following the automotive manufacturing trail to all
the growing regions of the world, in 2011 HuDe has
delivered many brand new airbag test facilities
worldwide. BRIC — this small oeconomic shortcut
is also a symbol for the worlds automotive future.

South Africa and China consequently in South
America, Russia and India. Our German testing
technology is already exported to Brazil, Argentina,
Near East and Russia and the clients acceptance is

In Line Themal Transient Tester for Squib Production
To verify the igniter manufacturing for airbags and
micro gas generators the Thermal Transient Principle is a
very common test method. The new HuDe TTT unit is a
full automatic thermal transient tester for twin lane
operation in PLC controlled production lines. Within
about one second two igniters are tested and the results
are sent to the process control system.
To inspect the quality of the airbag door cutting
process directly in the production line HuDe has
developed a cost efficient Drop Tower test bench.
Without installation of any airbag module the
weakening of airbag doors is checked by mass
impact. This priciple is the fastes way to detect
possible manufacturing problems directly where they
occure. The current second generation of this test
system is using air bearings for very low tolerance in

The tester is an automatic impact test bench for
pedestrian protection sensors. 100% of the production is
checked before the integration into front bumpers of
modern cars.
Die Palette, der von HuDe gelieferten Mess- & Prüfanlagen für Produkte der Fahrzeugsicherheit deckt den gesamten Bereich des Insassenschutzes, der dynamischen Crash-Simulation und des Lebensdauertests komplett ab.
Schwerpunkt der Prüfanlagen für Insassenschutz sind schlüsselfertige Airbagteststände und Testanlagen für den dynamischen Komponententest z.B. Body-Block und Kopfaufschlag-Tests.
Für die gesamte Produktpalette, vom Airbagzünder, über die Sitze bis zur Instrumententafel liefert HuDe modulare Prüfanlagen.
In August 2011 the Testing and Measuring System team of HuDe
moved from the main company building to the new location in
Erkelenz, Gewerbestrasse 43, only one block away.
Equipped
with best level ESD-floor and sophisticated IT-infrastructure
now there is enough space for the Eletronics–, Software- and
Project engineers of the Automotive Testing team. Even if the
main building was extended by a second floor in 2008, the space
became to less very soon by the permanent company growth.
With proud and joy the HuDe team celebrated the
companies 30th anniversary on July 1st 2011.
Together with guests from the city government,
foreign representatives, partners and friends all the
HuDe employees used the perfect summer weather
to enjoy a happy party. HuDe CEO Reinhold Wahlers
especially thanked the families and partners of all
HuDe staff for their support because behind every
worker and engineer there is a familiy backbone
that supports him. Beside delicious food and music
one of the highlights of this day was the
presentation of the new Factory-2 building next
Airbag testing technology is always in progress. Some of
the oldest HuDe airbag deployment systems are from the
early 90‘s and still in operation. Of course by technical
progress the systems are improved year by year. New
series of high speed cameras, full automatic test sample
handling and many additional firing channels with
modern data acquisition components keep the HuDe
systems running for a long life. If an airbag deployment
test laboratory shall be extended by a dynamic impact
test system—no problem. Common use of the existing
core components in addition with new PLC controlled
test hardware, this is the best way to get best
performance by clear investement.
With the beginning of 2012 the HuDe staff increased to 55.
Most of the new staff are engineers and became members of
the project and construction teams. Spread over the different
business units HuDe has five trainees in economics and
electrical engineering. Special government certified
education is offered to the Automotive Testing team for
handling of airbags and other vehicle pyrotechnics.
Durch das neuartige wartungsfreie servoelektrische Beschleunigungssystem realisiert HuDe auf kleinstem Raum die ECE konforme Prüfung von Lenksäulen, Lenkrädern und anderen Fahrzeugkomponenten. Mit Nutzlasten von bis zu 75 kg und einer Geschwindigkeit von über 50 km/h lässt sich die gesamte Palette der ECE und FMVSS-Test realisieren.
Ergänzend zum horizontalen elektrischem Antriebssystem steht auch ein HuDe Drop-Tower für bis Massen zu 75 kg zur Verfügung.
HuDe hat ein neues Airbag-Prüflabor für Key Safety Systems in Arad (Rumänien) erfolgreich in Betrieb genommen. Wir bedanken uns für das Vertrauen und die tolle Zusammenarbeit.
